Class Series: Zoom-ing Toward Resilience

Feeling stuck? Cranky joints, chronic pain, weary of being stuck inside for too long?

No matter what our circumstances, it’s easy to feel constricted and constrained by what’s going on in the world around us. So how do we adapt? How do we move forward in a way that both honors what is real and explores new possibilities?

We’ll begin from the ground up, using a series of five Awareness Through Movement® group Feldenkrais lessons, plus one private Functional Integration® lesson*. Generally slow and gentle, these guided movements bring attention and awareness to how we move, stimulating the nervous system to rediscover or invent movement options that you might have thought weren’t even possible.

Led by Gika Rector, these lessons are designed to improve balance, agility and resilience. On the surface, they’re about improving physical mobility, but they’re also about learning how to learn. As the lessons progress, participants find that they discover new insights and possibilities in other areas of their lives.

Dates: June 1 through June 5, 2020
Time: 1 p.m. Central Time (U.S. and Canada)
Tuition: $145 (includes five online group Awareness Through Movement lessons and a one-on-one Functional Integration lesson)

Standing FeetFeeling stuck? Having a hard time moving your body, much less moving your life? How are your feet? Tired, sore, achey? Do you find yourself looking for the perfect pair of shoes—no matter how ugly—to get you through the day without hurting?

Join Gika Rector for this gentle exploration of standing and moving forward-physically and metaphorically. This two hour workshop focuses on the feet as both a metaphor and as a physical experience to explore how we find stability, balance, and movement in our bodies and in our lives. The workshop will include group interactions/conversations, quiet time for individual reflection and a specially selected Awareness Through Movement® lesson.

Please wear comfortable clothing that doesn’t restrict your movement.
