Description
Learn a fun and contemporary approach to an ancient fiber medium. Wrap a ball with luscious and colorful merino wool and cover it with pantyhose. Add soap and water—and bounce. The wool becomes a felted sphere. The sphere can then become a bag or purse or vessel, perhaps even a hat.
With vibrant and interesting textures to play with, felting is a rich creative experience for the senses. Bring an old towel, a plastic bag, and your curiosity. All other materials are included in the registration fee. No experience necessary.

Description
Working with fundamental feltmaking techniques, participants will make a series of small, three-dimensional felt objects. (Think small sculptures.)
Handmade felt is formed by manipulating wool fibers. It’s simple, fun, and easy. As the fibers are transformed into objects with dimension and substance, so are our lives shaped. (Sometimes that’s also simple, fun, and easy.)
Through conversation, written responses, and selection of materials, participants are invited to reflect on the internal and external forces that shape our emerging lives.

What if we could let go of holiday stress? What if all our unrealistic expectations for the “perfect season” could be transformed into a spirit of celebration that truly expresses who we are and what we value?

Description
Felt Great for the Holidays is an unconventional workshop that starts with a deceptively simple creative act: you’ll craft one or more felt ornaments or small vessels by wrapping wool around a 3″ plastic ball. Color, texture, soap, and water create an environment of festivity and fun within which we’ll explore anxiety and anticipation, creativity and celebration, fellowship and transformation, improvisation and surprise.
No experience is necessary for this workshop. Just bring a towel, a plastic bag, and your curiosity. …more
